| Welcome to the home of the West Coast Marathon Championships! For years the mountain bike marathon has been an integral bridge between endurance racing and cross country racing. The mileage for the marathon varies between 50-70 miles and encompasses all kinds of epic riding conditions. The SoCal Fat Tire Epic 50 will take place at Vail Lake Resort in Temecula, CA. The course is a demanding 50 mile epic adventure. With long climbs and twisty -fun- roller coaster downhills. Lets not forget about the classic Vail Lake rolling ridge line descents! With spectacular views of the wineries, Palomar Mountain, and the Agua Tibia wilderness. This event is sure to be a classic destination! |
| RACE CATEGORIES: PRO MEN PRO WOMEN EXPERT MEN EXPERT WOMEN SPORT MEN SPORT WOMEN BEGINNER MEN BEGINNER WOMEN JR OPEN BOYS 17 AND UNDER JR OPEN GIRLS 17 AND UNDER MASTER MEN 40-49 MASTER WOMEN 40-49 MASTER MEN 50-59 MASTER WOMEN 50-59 MASTER MEN 60+ MASTER WOMEN 60+ SINGLE SPEED OPEN NEW CATEGORIES FOR 2010: 2 Person open -1 rider / lap Beginner 1 lap - 1 lap x 25 miles REGISTER The entry fees are as follows: June 1st - June 30th = $85/ racer July 1st - July 31st = $90/ racer August 1st - August 31st = $95/ racer September 1st - October 1st = $100/ racer Jr Racers are $50 (Jr's will do 1 - 24 mile loop) All racers who register the day of the race will have a $10 late registration fee! There will be a 700 racer field limit to include all categories! NO EXCEPTIONS!!! So get registered asap! All pre registered racers will receive an event t-shirt! Event t-shirts will also be available on site the day of the race for $10/ t-shirt. Racers still have to check in Prior to the race! All mail in waivers must be in no later than September 30th. If you are not sure you are in on time. | SoCal Fat Tire Epic 50: -All riders must check in prior to the race. Checks in times are 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm Friday Oct 2nd & 4:30pm - 6:30pm Saturday morning Mandatory racer meeting at the start/ finish line at 8am race day! - Race Start time 9 am - The start will be in mass. - There will be a parade lap led by the moto escort - The second lap will not include the parade lap - The parade lap is not a race, it will be used to separate and pace the race group! - Each category will be grouped together in order. - There will be 4 aid stations on the course. - Each aid station will have water and supplementation - All racers can have neutral support - All racers can have team support at any neutral aid station - There will be a racer pit area near the start finish line. -There is camping at the venue ( for info go to www.vaillakeresort.com ) -Vail Lake is giving a special camping discount to all our racers and support folks. - There will be food at the venue - All racers must be done by 5:00pm - Award ceremony will start at conclusion of the race! In the event of less than the required 10 participants, the prize money will be 100% payback of the Pro registration fees in the prospective category! All 1st place finisher's in each category will be crowned West Coast Marathon Champions! All top 3 finishers in each category will receive medals. |
